Former Bihar chief minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi has accused a conspiracy of poisoning the current chief minister, Nitish Kumar, with the intent of claiming the coveted CM seat. Manjhi expressed concerns about someone adding a poisonous substance to Kumar's food, citing it as the reason for Kumar's recent controversial statements. The allegation follows a heated exchange in the Bihar Legislative Assembly during a debate on reservation bills, where Kumar berated Manjhi and suggested the latter's aspirations to become the Governor.
During the legislative session, Manjhi raised reservations about the inadequate representation of Scheduled Castes among gazetted officers and called for a comprehensive review of the impact of reservation. Kumar, however, interrupted Manjhi and criticized his previous term as chief minister, leading to protests from BJP legislators. The verbal clash continued, with Kumar accusing Manjhi of harboring Governor ambitions. In response, Manjhi stated that Kumar had forgotten basic decency and lost his mental balance.
